PLANETSIDE SOFTWARE TERRAGEN 2 PLUGIN FOR AUTODESK 3DS MAX

We developed a plugin to be able to share lights, cameras and objects with Terragen 2 from Planetside Software.

Latest build add-ons and updates (June 29, 2009):

  • Import planets
  • Import terrains (support for heightfield import and terrain positioning coming later on)
  • Camera export updated

Will add help tooltips to the user interface.

IMPORT A TERRAGEN2 PROJECT

Simply load a TERRAGEN2 project file and import its cameras, sunlights, lightsources, planets and/or terrains.
You can start animating the imported objects and export them back to TERRAGEN2.

SELECT A REFERENCE OBJECT

Most of the time you want to use a reference object to export your animation from.
In other words, using a reference object will offset your animation.
You can use different origins in both, 3DSMAX and TERRAGEN 2.

SELECT AN EXPORT RANGE

Export a specific frame range

CAMERA EXPORT

Select a camera from the dropdown list or pick one from your scene.

Check 'Export Relative To RefObj' if you want to export using your reference object.
Check 'Export Position' if you want to export the cameras position.
Check 'Export Rotation' if you want to export the cameras rotation.
Check 'Export Scale' if you want to export the cameras scale.
Check 'Export FOV' if you want to export the cameras field of view.

A dialog will pop up when you click 'EXPORT' to save your animation to import in TERRAGEN 2.

LIGHT EXPORT (SUNLIGHT)

Select a light from the dropdown list or pick one from your scene.

Check 'Export Relative to reference' if you want to export using your reference object.
Check 'Export Enabled' if you want to export the lights on and off state.
Check 'Export Heading' if you want to export the lights heading.
Check 'Export Elevation' if you want to export the lights elevation.
Check 'Export Color' if you want to export the lights color.
Check 'Export Strength' if you want to export the lights strength.
Check 'Export Shadow Casting' if you want to export the lights shadow casting.

A dialog will pop up when you click 'EXPORT' to save your animation to import in TERRAGEN 2.

LIGHT EXPORT (LIGHTSOURCE)

Select a light from the dropdown list or pick one from your scene.

Check 'Export Relative To RefObj' if you want to export using your reference object.
Check 'Export Position' if you want to export the lights position.
Check 'Export Rotate' if you want to export the lights rotation.
Check 'Export Color' if you want to export the lights color.
Check 'Export Strength' if you want to export the lights strength.
Check 'Export Shadow Casting' if you want to export the lights shadow casting.

A dialog will pop up when you click 'EXPORT' to save your animation to import in TERRAGEN 2.

OBJECT EXPORT

Select an object from the dropdown list or pick one from your scene.

Check 'Export Relative to RefObj' if you want to export using your reference object.
Check 'Export Enabled' if you want to export the objects on and off state.
Check 'Export Shadow Casting' if you want to export the objects shadow casting.
Check 'Export Position' if you want to export the objects position.
